Preparator is a precision layout and installation tool for artwork. Build a collection, arrange artwork across rooms and walls, account for architectural obstructions, and turn a visual layout into measurements you can use on the wall.
Preparator is designed around a simple idea: the machine should do the measuring so you can concentrate on the installation.
Add artwork to your Collection, set up Rooms and Walls as needed, then drag artwork onto a wall. Preparator can arrange a group automatically along an installation line or let you position artwork freely. When you're ready to install, it calculates the measurements needed to transfer the layout to the physical wall.
Preparator is local-first and doesn't require an account. Your Collection and Projects are stored on your device. A Preparator workspace file lets you make a backup or move your workspace to another device.

Use Export Workspace from the Project menu to save a complete Preparator workspace file. Use Import Workspace to restore it or move it to another device.
The Installation Line is the horizontal centerline used to arrange artwork on a wall. When enabled, artwork is grouped and centered along that line.
Pull the picture wire under tension and record the distance from the wire to the top of the frame. Preparator uses that measurement to calculate the hanging point.
Drag artwork from a wall back onto the Collection pane, or select it and press Delete or Backspace.
